At the end, we had a rather spirited honey auction which brought in $228.00 for the Superior Beekeeping Club. Thanks to all of the people that purchased honey or participated in the bidding.
More info on ordering packaged bees will be coming soon.
A great bunch of new beekeepers at the class last Wednesday. According to Sarah from the Marquette Co-op (our sponsor), there were 75 people in attendance. It is always a pleasure to help bring new people into the world of beekeeping.

Wednesday Jan 23, 5:30-8:30 in the Community room at the Peter White Library in Marquette. All of the basics of beekeeping in order for you to get started this spring or an opportunity to just learn about bees and beekeeping. We will be auctioning off bee club honey after the class--we don't have a lot so it won't take long.See you there!
From October to through today the bee yard has gone from snow to no snow 3 times. Normally the hives would be completely covered by this time. Not sure how all of this will effect the bees. Warmer usually means they will be using more of their winter honey stores. Time will tell.
