** I extracted a couple of supers of really light mostly basswood honey--that signature light minty taste. So far it continues to look like a good honey year.
*** Remember the Gathering of the North event on Sept. 1. Tickets are available.

**** Check for mites and be thinking of extraction --we will be doing one here in September.
***** The Hive House has been a busy place this summer--overflowing with bees.
******Looking for a place to put you bees?--see below
greetings, we are interested to learn if you might know someone who would have an interest in using our land for the purpose of keeping hives on our property.
We are located in Chocolay township about 2.5 miles E of the US 41 & m-28 intersection along Lac Superior.
During our ownership since 2005 the property, 3.25 acres,
has not had any chemicals sprayed or used on it. Though predominately evergreens, we now have a good number of deciduous trees growing after we curtailed a neighbors cutting on our property. We have a lot of diverse native plants, and various species of blueberries, and service berries. In addition, we also have a number of perennial gardens that attract a diverse number of winged insects.
Though we are not interested in doing the work required to maintain hives we would welcome someone who wants to have hives and doesn't have the land to do so.
Thank you, Deborah
